PASTORAL FELLOWSHIP: A TEAM OF LEADING SERVANTS

You’ll hear the phrase “Every Member Matters” a lot at Gospel Life. We believe that the ministry is more of a team role for all the saints rather than something that only “clergy” does (Ephesians 4:10-12). We are all servants working together. Gospel Life is governed by elder-led congregationalism; a congregational polity that is led by pastors who are assisted by deacons.

Pastoral Team
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

In God’s providence, we believe in a plurality of pastors (elders) and a team-based model of ministry to shepherd the flock here in Keyser.

Daniel Sisler

Pastor of Preaching and Teaching

I grew up in Western Maryland where I graduated from the University of Maryland with an engineering degree. I have served in campus ministry with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) at Frostburg State and Garrett College. After working as an engineer for several years, I moved to working full-time in vocational ministry. I am currently enrolled at Southern Seminary where I am pursuing my degree in Biblical Counseling. I am married to my beautiful wife (Lynette) with two wonderful children.

DEACON FELLOWSHIP: A TEAM OF SERVANT LEADERS

We believe that deacons exist in the local church to preserve the role of the pastors/elder and ensure that physical needs do not go unmet. We see the New Testament role of deacons begins with benevolence needs (Acts 6) and ends with any other roles that assist the pastor(s) in the ministry. Our deacons serve for 4 year terms. Below are our current deacons.

Norman Moore

Missions and Education

Norman is a graduate of Potomac State College as well as West Virginia University. Before retirement, he served as a school teacher and was the health inspector for the Mineral County Health Department. He chairs the Missions Committee, teaches an adult bible class, and coordinates educational materials. He loves reading and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Isaiah Smith

Isaiah is originally from Riverton, West Virginia. He attended Potomac State College, West Virginia University, and the University Of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine.  He is the owner of Mountainview Vet Services and is married to Anna. He enjoys farming as a hobby, water skiing, and snow skiing.

MINISTRY TEAM LEADERS

We want every member of Gospel Life to be connected with God, others, and service because “Every Member Matters.” Each member is expected to serve on a ministry team. In addition to the deacons (who lead ministry teams too), the following individuals lead ministry teams.

Ministry Coordinator : Brittany Kiser

In 2019, Brittany Kiser became the ministry coordinator at Gospel Life. She serves as an administrative hub for the various ministries of the church. A native of Moorefield, WV, Brittany is a former insurance professional, and mother of three. In addition to her duties as ministry coordinator, Brittany and her husband, Jeremiah, faithfully serve as Sunday school teachers and work with a local youth ministry on Wednesdays.
